In Gnostic cosmology, the mētra of the lower Sophia describes a womb from which the universe was born. Within early Gnostic texts, Sophia represents the divine feminine and is credited as the creator of the material world, infusing all living entities with the spark of the Monad.
Mētra consists of 35mm double exposures, drawing inspiration from the Basilica of St. Josaphat and incorporates scenic photographs from various regions across the United States. This body of work serves as a reflection on themes of birth, gestation, and the divine feminine within early Christian narratives, as well as our contemporary moment and the evolving climate.
This work seeks to explore the impact of orthodoxy and patriarchal systems in the erasure of the divine feminine. It delves into concepts of sacred knowledge, gnosis, and humanity’s diminishing ability to live in harmony with the natural world.

New Grass by Talk Talk
New Grass serves as a requiem for a dear friend in the wake of their unexpected death. Inspired by the scrobbling log of their now inactive last.fm profile, New Grass provides a unique point of entry into their final moments.
The installation consists of a handmade light box coated in butyle rubber. The face emits a gentle glow through a duratrans print, reminiscent of the ethereal and celestial. Through abstraction, New Grass incorporates elements from old cell phone images, significant memories, and distinct settings to create an object that is both esoteric and serene.
This work marks a moment of great introspection, exploring our relationships with mortality and the real. It questions how the fluidity and immediacy of the present moment augments the way we assign significance and meaning to the cultural objects we consume, produce, and exchange.
Norea's Crown (2017)

“Sir, am I made from the same matter as the Archons?” asked Norea.
“You and your offspring come from the primeval father. Your souls come from above, out of the incorruptible light. Therefore, the Archons cannot approach them, since the spirit of truth resides in them, and all who know this exist deathless in the midst of dying people. Still, the children will not be revealed now. Instead, after three ages, the truth will be revealed and free them from the bondage of the Archons’ error.”
The Hypostasis of the Archons
Norea is a significant figure in Gnostic cosmology, who is often portrayed as an earthly manifestation of the divine feminine. Notably, she is described as the daughter of Adam and Eve, and the wife of Noah in the Old Testament.
As Eve's daughter, Norea possesses the spark of the Primeval Father — a divine power Eve gained when consuming fruit from the tree of knowledge, leading to her expulsion from the Garden of Eden.
In the Gnostic text 'Hypostasis of the Archons', a narrative unfolds in which the Archons, a set celestial rulers that hinder souls from leaving the material realm, devise a plan to destroy the world through a deluge. Upon hearing of this plan, the Demiurge warns Noah of the impending flood and instructs him to build an ark for humanity's salvation.
During her attempt to board the ark, Norea is halted by Noah, who denies her entry. In an act of defiance, Norea blows upon the ark three times, setting it ablaze. Amidst the burning ark, Norea desperately calls upon the Primeval Father for protection from the Archons. In response to her plea, the angel Eleleth appears, causing the Archons to retreat in fear.
As the story concludes, Eleleth reveals Norea's true origin as the daughter of the Primeval Father, and shares a prophecy foretelling mankind's true salvation.
UBIK (2008)

UBIK by Philip K Dick
UBIK is an ephemeral sculpture of a Cathode Ray Tube television casted in caramelized corn syrup. Sitting atop of a light box, UBIK emanates a soft amber glow which grows deeper and more opaque as the material oxidizes over time, darkening the space it once illuminated.
Often used for practical effects in both film and television, carmalized corn syrup serves an unstable material, which emulates the qualities of a glass-like solid but degenerates over time back into a viscus state.
Inspired by the writings of science fiction author Philip K Dick, UBIK serves as a meditation on our transition from a "one-to-many" production model to a "many-to-many" production model. It explores the decay and collapse of previous modes of communication and their monolithic influence on society in the wake of Web 2.0.
